The dandelion plant maybe known for being a bright yellow and fuzzy weed, but its true beauty is within its health benefits, especially in its roots. Brewing dandelion root into a tea unveils a multitude of advantages that contribute to holistic wellness. The notes of this tea is a bit bitter with a buttery roasted flavor. (It reminds me of coffee.)

Dandelion root tea has been traditionally used to support liver health and aid in detoxification. It helps flush out toxins from the body while supporting the liver's function in eliminating waste. Its root is rich in essential nutrients like vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals such as potassium and iron. When you drink a cup daily, it helps reduce inflammation in the body, and potentially benefits conditions such as arthritis and other inflammatory diseases. And it helps regulate blood sugar levels making it good for people with diabetes.

(There has been some studies suggesting that dandelion root extracts may exhibit anti-cancer properties, particularly in relation to certain types of cancer cells. Woah!)

If I had known this valuable information when I was younger, I would have picked all the roots and made some tea for me and my friends. Now, I like to start my day with a cup before I begin my yoga and relax into the bitter soothing notes. My body always feels good and I don’t see myself not drinking this tea daily, it really works!
